Florida Civics and Debate Initiative
Red Hills Strategies
Florida Civics and Debate Initiative is a Florida Department of Education initiative created by Governor Ron DeSantis in 2019. The mission of FCDI is to expand and enhance civic knowledge and reinvigorate public debate and civil discourse in Florida classrooms. Collateral to support the initiative includes a variety of print and digital assets for events, social media graphics, swag, presentation decks, stickers, brochures, fact sheets and one-pagers, palm cards, and signage. Other duties include website design and management, social media content creation and management across several platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and X), and event planning and coordination for events such as FCDI Day at the Capitol and The Great Debate.
Most recently, I served as Creative Lead for the brand refresh for the Florida Civics and Debate Initiative, focusing on modernizing and strengthening its visual identity. The goal was to create a look that better reflected the initiative’s mission and growing impact. Through a process of research, concept development, and refinement, I delivered a refreshed logo and cohesive brand system. The result was a visual identity that better aligns with the organization’s values while allowing for flexibility across future applications.
